Mono Moon

I had been trying to get something dramatic for a few years that conveys the starkness and moodiness of Mono Lake and the tufa.  This was my third attempt, and I got what I wanted (for a change).  Many times I have viewed beautiful scenes one day, only to come back the next and not view anything similar.

This time I viewed a scene over Mono Lake from Highway 395 that had deep blue with a strong hit of red/magenta right at sunset with a full moon rising over the Lake.  I came back a few months later and to my delighted surprise found the same conditions.
